Phillips Presents Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 50th Anniversary Auction

On May 6, 2022, Phillips will hold a special auction for “The Royal Oak 50th Anniversary” at the Hôtel La Réserve in Geneva, Switzerland.

The auction will present a number of watches of historical importance, including the original Royal Oak “Jumbo” Ref. The earliest Royal Oak model to enter the auction market. Other highlights include the Royal Oak Ref.25831 Tourbillon 25th Anniversary with case number “No.1” (estimate between 120,000 and 240,000 Swiss francs) and Karl Lagerfeld’s Royal Oak “Jumbo” Ref.5402ST PVD-coated watch (estimate CHF 100,000-200,000).

In 1997, to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Royal Oak series, Audemars Piguet launched the Ref.25831 Tourbillon watch. This watch is released in a limited number of 25 stainless steel models, 10 950 platinum models (5 blue dials, 5 salmon dials), and 5 18K yellow gold models. In addition, Audemars Piguet also created an orphan watch in 18K rose gold and 18K white gold for the Sultan of Brunei.
